I have never been involved in any fundraising organization other than the PTA at my children's school.
The Pap Corps Greater Broward Chapter started out for me as a way to spend an evening with a close friend. Who wouldn’t like a night out of the house?
I went to a meeting, met interesting women and learned about the Pap Corps and how they brainstorm to raise money in the fight to eradicate cancer. All cancers! I like the connection it gives me to Sylvester and its doctors and that all the money we raise stays here in Florida. The more I learn about the Pap Corps, the more passionate I feel about the organization. Whenever I hear that someone, anyone, has been touched by cancer I become more passionate about the Pap Corps. I feel that I want to be a part of the greater good so I joined. I want to give back. I had the privilege of attending the end of year luncheon where a check was presented to the University of Miami Sylvester Center by the Pap Corps for over $4,000,000.00. I was overjoyed knowing that I was a part of that. I enjoy the comradery of the women and at the same time I like the feeling the Pap Corps gives me knowing I am doing something useful in the fight against cancer.
