A little over year ago I found out that I was moving to South Florida. My mom has been living in Florida for 14 years and has been very active and involved with her chapter of the Pap Corps. I wondered how I would meet women and make friends when I made the move from Philadelphia to Florida.
I attended a Pap Corps function with my mom and met the President JoAnne Goldberg, and upon telling her that I was moving to Florida she informed me that there was a new chapter in the area where I was moving and that they were a great group of women. JoAnne gave me Lori Margolis' phone number and told me to call her when I finally made the move. I called Lori in late August and we spoke for an hour on the phone. I moved to Florida on September 18, 2013 and the first meeting of the new season of this chapter was on September 19th. I went to the meeting where I met Lori and the many women of the Greater Broward Pap Corps. They were the most welcoming and friendly women that I have ever met.
So I can tell you that I originally joined The Pap Corps to make new friends 8 months ago. Meet new friends...I sure did and they are an amazing group of women. In addition to that, over the past 8 months, I have found a passion to do what I can to help find the cure for all cancers! In this short time I have made amazing friends. Together we can help raise money for the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Center. I am proud to be the Fundraising Co-Vice President of the board of the Greater Broward Chapter with Sue Steinman.
